Homemade Ginger Tea Recipe

This healthy refreshing ginger tea is made with fresh ginger, orange and grated nutmeg. You can make the tea with just the ginger on its own but I think the nutmeg gives it a little extra!

By drinking ginger tea you get to enjoy not only a tasty refreshing drink, but also the many health benefits of ginger.

Ingredients: (makes 2 cups)

2 cups water
½ inch (2cm) piece of ginger root
½ tsp grated nutmeg
2 tbsp fresh orange juice
Agave nectar or honey (optional)

Directions:

Grate or thinly slice the ginger and put in a saucepan with the water. Add the nutmeg and bring to the boil, turn off the heat, add the orange juice and let steep (sit) for 5-10 minutes. Pour through a strainer and enjoy!

If you like your tea a bit sweeter, add the agave or honey.
